Sustainability
OUR RAW MATERIALS Instead of using traditional plasticizers, an eco-sustainable binder is used in the construction of our M49 acetate material, which we use in our glasses. In this way, our acetates have become a sustainable, bio-based bioplastic. What is bioplastic? According to the definition of the European Bioplastics Union, bioplastics can be divided into three main groups: - Bio-based or partially bio-based - Derived from fossil sources (even if not bio-based) and biodegradable, but potentially partially bio-based in the future -Bio-based and biodegradable
*OUR M49 TRANSPARENCIES MEET BOTH REQUIREMENTS BY BOTH BIOBASE AND BIOLOGICALLY DEGRADED. What is bio-based? By deriving the material from a natural and renewable resource, the material becomes bio-based. * Based on ASTM D6866 testing, M49 acetate is 68% derived from a natural and renewable resource.

*M49's degree of biodegradation exceeds 90% after 115 days, thus making it biodegradable. PRODUCTION Our glasses are 100% handmade by the artisans of our workshop. In this way, each glasses is unique. In order to preserve the sustainable and natural structure of our products and ensure that they are bright at the same time, instead of the traditional chemical varnishing method, we rotate our glasses for days in our cabinets with rosewood pieces to give them their shine. OUR PACKAGING The cases we use for our glasses are vegan leather. The boxes in which we put our covers are made of cardboard and are environmentally friendly. We continue our sustainability adventure, which started from our raw materials, in our packaging as well, and in this way, we aim to be sustainable throughout our production line. |
